I know you probably got into the MLM or network marketing industry because you are sick and tired of living paycheck to paycheck. And I’m sure that you would prefer to have the time freedom in your life to spend your days doing what you want to do.

I understand because I too had those same frustrations when I got started. Once you got started in network marketing, you soon found out that it wasn’t going to be as easy as you were led to believe.

Why is it that you aren’t making hundreds of dollars a day? Why are you having so much trouble generating leads for your business? Why can’t you sign up anyone into your primary network marketing business?

You are starting to doubt this entire industry and you are wondering if there is some secret. What does the guy or girl walking across the stage at the company events know or have that you don’t?

Well, don’t doubt yourself or your business because I want to share something with you today that may change your perspective on your MLM business.

The Best Kept MLM Secret

Well, I’m going to let the cat out of the bag. There is no secret. Seriously, it’s really that simple.

Now, I know. You’re thinking that there is no way that is going to help you build your network marketing business. It will if you listen to me with an open mind!

This industry IS extremely lucrative and it will indeed provide you with that critical time freedom. However, there is a lot of work to be done if you are not there just yet.

Let’s say for example that you were going to medical school to become a doctor. Would you spend an hour or two here and there going to classes and studying and then expect to excel?

Of course not!

The same goes for the network marketing industry. If you want to have success in network marketing, you will need to obtain certain skill sets. It will not take 4 years of “college” to acquire them, but you will have to put in a whole lot of effort.

It is going to take a bit of sacrifice on your part and how much you are willing to sacrifice is indicative of how successful you are going to be. I remember when I got started in this industry, I did not watch any TV for the first 6 months…literally!

The point I am trying to make is that you are going to have to work hard and learn these skills yourself, no one else can learn them for you. It is critical that you learn how to prioritize both your leisure time and your other responsibilities so that you can spend consistent time on your business.

There is so much good information online, good training and amazing resources. However, if you don’t take the time to learn and apply what you learn to your business you simply will not see results.

And be consistent and hold yourself accountable. It’s easy to give up after a couple of months and say “See, it didn’t work.”

It’s tougher to stick with it, make no excuses, and do whatever it takes until you become successful. I honestly believe that if you really want it bad enough, you will have success in this industry. Quitting before you become successful is the only sure way to fail.

The sacrifices you have to go through now may be hard, but the rewards you will have will be worth it!

The network marketing industry is an incredibly rewarding place to be, but it’s very likely that you may be struggling with something that affects so many marketers: you are likely having trouble generating leads for your MLM business.

We have all been there at one time, and it can be an absolutely discouraging experience. You have this amazing opportunity, but you just can’t seem to get anyone interested enough to take notice.

I’ve learned these three “secrets” to MLM lead generation. I really hesitate to even use the word secret because it gets so overused in our industry, but I’m going to make an exception here.

Become A Leader

I’m going to say it again. Become a leader. No one wants to follow a follower. People want to follow leaders, so if you are not a leader, then it’s time you become one…and quickly! This has nothing to do with the number of sales you have, or how much money you make. This is about working on yourself and making yourself more valuable to others. It’s about teaching and helping your prospects and your team.

As entrepreneurs, working on our ourselves is just as important as working on our business. This is something we have total control over, but is often overlooked. The truth of the matter is that we are the only ones standing in our way!

Provide Value

Let’s be honest. No one cares how much money you made last month or last year. What people do care about is how you are going to help them be successful. We must always be providing value to our prospects and our team. This is one of my favorite quotes:

“We must give without want before we can receive.”

I think that just about sums it up. Don’t overlook this because it is key to successful MLM lead generation. We must always be giving to our prospects and teaching. Spend at least 80% of your time giving and providing value, and save your selling for the other 20%.

Don’t Come Across As Needy (Actually, Don’t BE Needy)

If there is one thing your prospects will see right through, it’s neediness. There are so many people out there who are looking for what you have to offer, so there is no reason to be needy or to feel needy. You have the opportunity for them, not the other way around. Value your time and don’t waste it by chasing people down to join your business.

Follow up is one thing. “Stalking” your prospects is quite another! There are propects everywhere, so have an attitude of abundance and you will be greatly rewarded!

There are a good deal of different factors surrounding MLM lead generation, but these three basic fundamentals are a good start. These principles will help you build the foundation and the mindset to be able to attract good quality leads. From there, the sky’s the limit!

Having a network marketing or MLM business can be exciting and very lucrative. However, it may not feel like that if you are struggling to generate leads for your business.

It can be discouraging when you are struggling to generate leads and are barely able to make enough money to continue on to the next month. You might even feel like quitting.

This doesn’t have to be you. It’s just a matter of knowing where to look for qualified leads and then learning the right marketing techniques to use.

Does this sound too easy? It is, but it doesn’t come without work. Although, this work will be results producing, rather than time consuming – we’ve all been there before.

Who Are Qualified MLM Business Leads?

First, it is so important to know exactly who your target market is. I can tell you that it’s not your family and friends. It’s not your neighbor and it’s not the guy you ran into at Starbucks.

I know there are some people who have built their businesses doing things like making lists of friends and family, having hotel meetings, using the “ten foot” rule, etc. and I mean no disrespect to them.

However, this is absolutely not the way you want to be building your business because it simply isn’t efficient.

Your target market is only two groups of people.

1. Other network marketers. This is because they are already sold on the network marketing and MLM industry. They understand the concept and don’t need to be convinced. This is a tough one for many marketers because it seems counter-intuitive. Most marketers want to know why market to someone who is currently in a network marketing or MLM business?

Well, you want to become a leader and provide value to other network marketers. It is not uncommon for network marketers to switch companies, so who do you think they are going to look to when they are ready to make a change?

In addition to providing them leadership, you can also market your own products or some affiliate products from time to time. It’s important that you are offering only good quality products though.

Even if they never join your primary business, these products will not only help them grow their business, but they will also provide revenue for your business

2. The second group of people who you want to target for your MLM busines are those that are actively looking for a business opportunity. They are looking for a solution to a problem and that is what you can offer them.

Let’s take a moment to think about this in another situation.

If you were selling your beautiful home, would you go solicit your family and friends to buy it? Of course not. You would hire an experienced Real Estate Agent and they would market your home to people who are actively searching for a home by placing it on things such as MLS. This is a service that buyers use almost every day to search for their new home.

Remember, your home may be big and beautiful, but if your family and friends aren’t in the market for a new house, it’s likely they probably won’t buy it!

This is the way we have to think with our MLM or network marketing business.

Where Can You Find MLM Business Leads?

As I mentioned above, you are not going to find qualified MLM business leads by going through your family tree. You also won’t find them hanging out at your favorite coffee shop all day.

Once you learn effective attraction marketing strategies and then implement them into your business, you will begin to generate qualified MLM business leads.

If you don’t understand what I mean when I say attraction marketing, then I strongly suggest you become a student of attraction marketing. Learn what your prospects are looking for and then give that to them.

Figure out what your prospects’ problems are and then provide them with the solution. This is how you will attract quality MLM business leads, customers and distributors into your business.

Do this quick exercise: Figure out exactly who you are targeting for your MLM business. What are they looking for? Why are they looking for it? More importantly, what will it provide for them?

Answer those questions. Provide those answers and solutions to your target market and you will attract endless leads into your MLM business.

Remember, people aren’t looking for a Network Marketing business. They are looking for a solution to a problem. What is that problem?

Answer that question and you will no longer struggle for leads!

We live in a society where bigger is better, more is better. But is it?

When it comes to building an online business, is more and bigger always better?

More specifically, is it better to have more friends on Facebook? Is it better to have a bigger list?

I don’t think this is always the case, and I also believe that this is where a lot of network marketers go wrong.

Everyone is so concerned with gathering as many Twitter followers and Facebook friends as quickly as they can.

This, however, doesn’t necessarily mean you are going to build your business any faster, or make any more money. It also does not really ensure any long term success.

Perhaps if we all took the time to build stronger relationships and actually network with people, we would have more success.

How does a whole bunch of friends on Facebook or a whole bunch of Twitter followers (who could care less about what you have to say) benefit you, or them, or your business?

What about having a list of 15,000 subscribers? It’s great if that lists consists of people who are genuinely interested in what you have to say and who you can build a relationship with.

But, what if most of them don’t really care? What if you don’t take the time to build a relationship with your subscribers because you feel like you have so many prospects, that you don’t really need to worry about it?

You could be just as successful with a list of 1,500 subscribers who actually hear what you have to say, and care what you have to say.

Now, my message here isn’t that you should shoot to only have 100 friends on Facebook or that you should try to keep your list small.

There are people with 300 friends on Facebook that are very successful and others with 5,000 friends that are just as successful. There are successful network marketers with 1,000 subscribers and those with 10,000.

Regardless of the size of your list, or how many friends and followers you have, if those people aren’t responding to the content you create, they don’t really impact your business in any meaningful way. Responsiveness is much more important than size – it’s another case of “quality over quantity.”

The point is that it should be about the quality of the relationships and not just the quantity. I’ve always felt that having 10 close friends that you can count on and really connect with is much more meaningful than having 100 friends that just want to party with you and that’s about it.

Think about this as you build your business. Who are you spending your time and energy on? Consider that as you build your business and remember that it is called NETWORK marketing for a reason!

As lucrative as network marketing or MLM is, it can be frustrating for many struggling marketers. If you aren’t generating enough leads or bringing in enough money, it can seem like you are doomed before you hardly even get started.

This doesn’t have to be you. There are a few network marketing tips I would like to share with you today.

8 Network Marketing Tips

1. Work Hard and Smart

Unfortunately, I think many people get involved in network marketing and believe it is going to be an “easy” way to make a lot of money. I do agree that it is an easy way to make a great living, however I would like to qualify that by saying there is quite a bit of work involved.

To most people, network marketing is a new experience. Add that to the effort of learning to market online and you will find you have a lot of information to cover. Now, it’s not going to be anything like going through college for four years, but be prepared to work and learn.

Also, be mindful that you are working “smart”. What I mean by that is make sure you are spending your time wisely on things that are improving your skill sets, which will produce you results. It’s easy to get lost in the sea of the internet and spend your time on things that aren’t really moving your business forward. This is something we should all be mindful of!

2. Learn How To Leverage

It’s going to be important, extremely important, that you harness the power of the internet and learn how to leverage your time. Once you learn these skills and how to implement them into your business, you can have your business running 24/7 while you are doing other things.

This is when you are really able to make money. However, don’t expect this to happen overnight. You must be diligent and understand the importance of things, such as a well-constructed website, a marketing sytem and sales funnel.

Also, some of you may have more time, while others may have more money available. If you are short on time, it may make sense to outsource certain tasks to allow you the time to spend talking to prospects and leads, and other results-producing tasks.

3. Be A Leader

This is something a lot of people struggle with. You feel like if you haven’t made it big yet, how can you be a leader? Well, being a leader has nothing to do with making millions of dollars.

It has to do with the ability to guide someone towards their goals. Spend time learning the skills in this industry and then share them with your prospects to help them succeed. Be there to guide and teach them, even though you are still learning.

That is a leader and that is what your prospects are looking for.

4. Master One Marketing Strategy At a Time

It can be extremely overwhelming with all the different marketing strategies available, and with new information and training being offered all of the time. My advice would be to find a strategy that you can relate to, afford and stick with consistently.

It’s easy to start marketing online and get caught up in trying one strategy for a few days or weeks, then another strategy, and so on. Unfortunately, this probably isn’t going to produce you the results you desire.

I would recommend starting with a strategy that you feel comfortable with, learn all about it, then do it consistently until you start seeing results. Once you do, ramp up your efforts and you should see bigger results.

Once you are getting consistent results, move on to another strategy and repeat. This will work better than jumping around and never really putting all your effort into one strategy to make it work.

Over time, you will learn which strategies you like, which ones work, which ones you should use more, less etc.

5. Test & Track Your Efforts

Don’t forget to test your marketing campaigns and don’t forget to track your efforts! How will you know which campaigns, articles, videos, ads, are getting you results if you are not tracking your efforts?

This may seem a bit tedious, but will save you a lot of time, energy and money if you make sure to do it. This way, if something is working, you can do more of that something to get bigger results. If you aren’t tracking, you have no way of knowing that!

6. Monetize Your Efforts

Don’t spend all of your time and energy driving traffic to your website only to try to get them to sign up in your primary network marketing business. This tip is important, because so many marketers leave so much money on the table by not doing this.

It’s okay to sell other products and services to your prospects even if they don’t want to join your network marketing company! Build your list with your leads and prospects and then build a relationship with them.

Offer them value, teach them, guide them and follow the 80/20 rule. You should be giving to them 80% of the time by sharing information, tips and your knowledge. The other 20% is okay to sell to them. You can offer affiliate products, or your own if you have them.

A word of caution, though, be sure the products you are offering them are something you stand behind and trust. Even though you may make an affiliate commission, it’s important that these products are still providing value to your list.

It’s more important to have a loyal list who trusts you, rather than making a quick buck!

7. Be Yourself

This one may sound easy, but it can be difficult. It’s more than okay to look to your mentors for guidance, but you don’t want to become your mentor. You want to be yourself.

This is a people business and it’s about relationships, so it’s important that you are true and authentic. People will see your authenticity and respect you for it.

One of my favorite quotes from the great Zig Ziglar is:

“You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.”

That is a very true statement. You have abilities that make you special and unique, so it’s important to remember that and not disregard them.

8. Don’t Give Up

Despite some of the marketing you may see or hear, don’t expect to be retired and living on an island in 6 months. This industry is extremely rewarding, but it takes time and effort to be successful.

I think many people get into this industry expecting results that aren’t equivalent to the time they are willing to spend on their business. They end up quitting because it doesn’t seem like it’s working.

You will be successful in network marketing…if you are diligent, consistent and don’t give up. Listen, it’s going to take some time and hard work, but the results will be well worth it!

Well, I guess that about wraps it up. I hope that some of these tips help you with your network marketing business. Remember why you got into this industry every time you have to sit down and do the work.

After all, wouldn’t you rather be working hard for yourself than for someone else?

We all know how extremely lucrative MLM or network marketing can be, but if you are not building your network marketing list you are leaving quite a bit of money on the table.

You will hear it time and time again. The money is in the list. Although, that is not entirely true (it’s in the relationship with your list), your list is the life blood of your business.

What if someone says no to your network marketing opportunity? If you have a prospect that says no, which you inevitably will, do you continue a relationship with them? Or do you just discard them and move on?

This is such an important concept and where most network marketers struggle. They are so focused on getting someone to join their primary opportunity that they don’t see past that rejection.

Listen, most people aren’t going to join your business. Period. It’s a simple fact, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t make money off of that prospect just because they didn’t say yes.

The Sales Funnel To Build Your Network Marketing List

You are online every day driving traffic to your website, right? Well, make sure you have somewhere that they can opt-in to your list. What are you offering them of value in return for their name and email?

When they join your list, don’t just bombard them with sales pitches over and over. It’s important to keep in touch with them and build a relationship. Selling to them non-stop is the quickest way to get them to hit the unsubscribe link.

Instead, provide them with value. Teach them. Be a leader. This is what you should be doing 80-90% of the time and it’s okay to sell to them the other 10-20% of the time.

Eventually, some people will decide they want to join your team, months or even years down the road. Most will never, and that’s okay.

Listen to this very closely. You can still make money off of those people who don’t join your primary business opportunity.

How you ask?

Well, by selling them affiliate offers or maybe your own products down the road. Now, I do not recommend selling affiliate products just to try to make money. Only offer products you feel good about and genuinely feel will help your subscribers be successful.

If you are offering them everything under the sun just to make a quick buck, it provides them no value and it doesn’t really show you as a leader with the utmost integrity, which is, I assume, how you are running your business.

The last point I wanted to make about building your network marketing list is that you should make sure you are building your own list.

What do I mean by that?

Well, do you have complete control over your list through your own autoresponder, or does your MLM or network marketing company have control?

This is one of the reasons it’s so important that you are sending traffic to your own website, rather than a generic company site because that could be the case in that situation.

You want to have complete control and ownership over your list. What if you decided to leave your network marketing company? What if it went bankrupt? Anything could happen, you never know.

Once you build that all important list, you can go anywhere, and build a new team without hardly skipping a beat!

There is a lot of money to be made online and learning internet marketing is quite a valuable skill.

Many people will debate about which internet marketing strategy is the most profitable.

I am going to give you my opinion. I have a distinct feeling some of you may like my answer, while some of you may hate it.

All I can say is that I believe it to be 100% true and important for you to understand.

What Is The #1 Internet Marketing Strategy?

I am going to keep this simple.

It’s the one you are consistent with and that brings you consistent results.

I told you. Some of you weren’t going to like my answer.

Here’s what I’ve learned about internet marketing. It’s almost like dieting. Every few months, there’s a new best strategy or killer marketing technique.

I’m not denying that there are some great strategies out there, but if you never commit to one and do it consistently, none of them will ever work.

If I were to start this great new diet where I can’t eat any red meat, and then next week I started a diet where I had to eat lots of red meat, and then the week after, I couldn’t eat any meat and so on…

My body would be thoroughly confused and I wouldn’t really be making any long term changes. I may lose a pound or two here or there, but I couldn’t keep bouncing around like this from diet to diet.

What I would need to do would be to implement day to day lifestyle changes. Things that I could do consistently, long term for me to see any real significant results.

It’s the same thing with internet marketing. You can’t decide this week you like PPC, and then when you don’t get the results you desire, jump into article marketing. Then, you decide that isn’t working and you jump into social media marketing.

You may see a little bit in the way of results, but you will see huge results if you take consistent, massive action. This is why there is no magic strategy out there that works for everyone.

Just like we all have different dietary needs and desires, we all have varying comfort levels and passions for different marketing strategies.

The important thing is that you find the one that works for you and master it. Implement it into your business on a consistent basis and you will see consistent results.

Depending on the strategy, it may take some time, but don’t give up. Sadly, most people give up right before they could have been successful.

Network Marketing online can provide you with not only financial freedom, but more importantly time freedom – if it’s done correctly! This is, after all, why many people enter the network marketing industry.

Unfortunately, traditional offline businesses tend to leave their owners feeling like they are slaves to their businesses. The simple truth for most small business owners is if they aren’t there and they don’t work, they don’t make any money.

This business isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. Some people get involved in this industry and then realize that they would rather go back to a 9 to 5 with a steady paycheck. Others get involved and then realize there is actual work involved and it’s not going to happen overnight.

However, for those of you reading this who are sick and tired of working for someone else and just getting by, then listen up! I am going to share with you what you need to know be successful in network marketing online.

Keys To Network Marketing Online

1. Choosing A Mentor and Business Opportunity

I’m sure many of you know that when joining a network marketing business, you will sign up under someone else. That person becomes your sponsor and is there to guide you when and if you need it.

Therefore, don’t take this decision lightly. You will ultimately be responsible for your own actions and your own results because you are going to be running your own business. However, having a great sponsor can make a huge difference and take months, or even years off of your learning curve.

When making your decision, look for someone who you view as a leader. Someone who you “click” with and can relate to, and someone you feel comfortable working with. We all connect with different types of people, so this will be a very individual decision. I would definitely recommend working with someone who is passionate about this business and very committed to your success as well as their own.

2. Branding

You’ve joined a great network marketing company and you have a supportive sponsor. Wonderful! Now go out and brand yourself! The internet is filled with lots of noise, so you need to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

Go out there, create your own website and market yourself. If all you do is market your generic company website, you are branding your company and that’s not going to benefit you or your business. It’s alright to use your company website on the back end, but on the front end, you should be marketing YOU!

Setting up a website may seem daunting to some, but there are some great platforms out there, such as WordPress, that make it much easier. Reach out to your sponsor to help you and/or point you in the right direction. Remember, they’ve already done this, so look to them for some guidance!

3. Attraction Marketing

If you want true leverage online, it is extremely important that you take this one seriously. Remember, you want time freedom. You want your website working for you 24/7, so it is essential that you understand the fundamentals of attraction marketing.

If you haven’t yet become a student of attraction marketing, become one now. It will change the entire way you look at your network marketing business. There is a lot of great information out there, but I highly recommend Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard.

The concept is simple, really. Figure out who your target market is. Determine what their problems are. Then, solve them. Provide value to your target market and become a leader. In the end, they will be chasing you down, rather than you chasing down prospects.

That’s the crash course, but I can’t stress enough the importance of this concept. It will literally change your business model and provide you with both time and financial freedom, if you take the time to learn these fundamentals.

4. Become A Student & Invest In Yourself

I’m always amazed at how our society thinks. People won’t hesitate to drop 15 thousand dollars or more a year for a college education. However, someone will start their own business, and hesitate to spend 50 or even 500 dollars on training and education. It simply makes no sense.

Listen, this industry is new to you. You are going to have to become a student again and learn. It is incredibly important that you be willing to invest in yourself, your business and your future. You and your business simply will not grow if you don’t.

While we are on this topic of investment, keep in mind that you will have to invest your time as well. Again, the network marketing industry can be very lucrative and very rewarding, but you must be willing to invest both the time and money or you won’t have long term success.

5. Master One Marketing Technique At A Time

One of the biggest mistakes I think we’ve all made in this industry is trying to tackle too many marketing techniques at once. One week we are focused on forum marketing, the next week video marketing, and so on, without ever mastering any one technique.

This is definitely a trap we fell into at one point a couple of years ago, and I’m sure it’s happened to almost all network marketers out there.

What we have to remember is that it is better to focus on one technique, master it, get results and then move on to another strategy. This doesn’t mean you have to drop your old strategies, but rather add to your marketing arsenal.

You are going to find that some marketing strategies fit better with you than others. Find one that you can focus on and master it. Consider the investment of both time and money on your part, and decide which you have more of to invest. Over time, you will decide which strategies you want to continue and which ones are a waste of your time and/or money.

Just remember though, when starting out, you really want to master one strategy at a time. It’s okay to learn about the different strategies to familiarize yourself and be able to make your decision easier, but please don’t try to master them all at once!

6. Sales Funnel, Follow-up & Relationship Building

It’s all well and good if you are learning how to generate traffic, but you must also be able to generate leads. Where are you sending your traffic? Do you have some way of capturing their information on your website?

Once you have their information, do you have a way to stay in touch with them? Are you using an autoresponder such as Aweber to communicate with your leads? You worked hard to generate those leads, so make sure you are making the most of them by keeping in touch.

More importantly, you want to focus on building a relationship with your leads, or your list. Network marketing is about building relationships. It’s important that the emails you send out provide value to your th people on your list.

It’s okay to market to your list, but make sure you are providing them value and not just selling to them in all of your emails. These emails are an opportunity for you to build relationships by gaining trust and respect. They shouldn’t just sound like non-stop sales pitches!

Now that you understand the keys to network marketing online, go out and start building your business. This industry is extremely rewarding, so take advantage of the time freedom and financial freedom it will provide you and your family!

I’m sure there could be any number of reasons, but I am going to discuss five of the most common ones that I believe may be standing in the way of your success.

Reasons For Network Marketing Failure

1. Lack Of Belief

To some of you this may sound odd, but let me explain. Quite simply, if you do not believe something is possible, it isn’t.

What do I mean by that?

Well, if you are “trying this business out to see if it works”, it probably won’t. Here’s why:

Our minds are very powerful and our beliefs are even more powerful. We subconsciously want to back up our beliefs, so if we don’t really believe in our business or think it will work, it simply won’t.

This can happen to any one of us at one time or another – and we often don’t even realive we’re doing it. Deep down, we all naturally try to validate what we believe, so if we truly believe in what we are doing, we are going to work towards our success. If we don’t, we are unknowingly working towards our failure.

This is something we all need to question ourselves on. Do you truly believe 100% in your business and what you are doing? If you don’t, that belief will always stand in your way, so this is something we all need to be mindful of and be honest with ourselves about.

2. Your Circle of Influence

We all love our friends and family, but unfortunately many of us may have friends and/or family members that aren’t exactly supportive of our business. Either they don’t understand the business, or maybe they simply don’t agree with our decisions.

This certainly doesn’t make them bad people and I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t spend time with them. However, it is important that we understand that just like what we decide to feed our bodies with affects how we feel, what we decide to feed our minds with affects how we think.

If we are spending a lot of time with negative people, or those who are putting down our business or our decisions, then it is going to have a negative impact on what we are trying to accomplish. It is important that we choose how we spend our time wisely, not just in what we what we do, but who we surrond ourselves with.

We have to limit or eliminate (depending on the relationship) the time we spend with the more toxic, negative people and decide to surround ourselves with more positive, open-minded and like-minded individuals.

Some of these decisions may be difficult, and this may even sound extreme to you. However, this is important and I believe to be one of the reasons that some people fail in this business.

3. Quitting Before Becoming Successful

This one can be SO frustrating. Again, it goes back to the “trying it out to see if it works” mentality. Hopefully, you did your due diligence when making the decision to embark on a network marketing business. Therefore, you should hopefully understand that it isn’t about putting up a website and making millions overnight.

If that’s all it took, everyone would be wealthy. There is a learning curve, as well as an investment of your time and money involved, so it is important to be patient. Many people are willing to go to college and even graduate school for 4 to 6 years or more to obtain a degree. Then, they are willing to take a job and “work their way up the chain.”

I wonder, then, why so many start their own business and then quit after just a few months? Why don’t we have the same level of patience with the network marketing industry. There is such a stigma around MLM and network marketing that many people think they got scammed and quit before they “waste any more time and money.”

Again, this goes back to the point I made above. Many people entering this industry subconsciously think it might be a scam, and therefore invest very little time or money. Then they quit before they ever have a chance to be successful. This way, they are verifying the “it was a scam” belief getting out before they have spent any more time or money. The reality, though, is they got out before they had the opportunity to be successful!

4. Unwilling To Invest The Time And Money In Yourself And Your Business

Starting your own network marketing business is going to take time and money.

Period.

I’m not just talking about spending money on the products you’re also selling. I’m referring to spending money on the expenses necessary to start a business, as well as your marketing education.

This is a new experience for most people who get started and therefore, there is much to learn. There are many skills that must be acquired and it is important that you are willing to invest both your time and money into acquiring those skills.

5. Not Applying Your Skills And Doing The Work

The best analogy I can give for this one is this: If you buy a treadmill or a gym membership, but then hardly ever use it, do you think you are going to get any results? Of course not. Similarly, if you learn a whole bunch of new skills, but then never apply them to your business, do you think you will be successful?

I also believe that the way the internet when combined with network marketing allows us to leverage our time is unbelievable. However, you have to work more than one hour a week to see some results. Many people simply don’t do the work necessary and then don’t understand why they aren’t seeing results.

It is so important that we are honest with ourselves. Are you actually diligent and consistent about doing results oriented tasks, or are you just surfing the web a couple of times a week? It’s a question we all need to ask, and be prepared to answer honestly.

Quite simply, if we don’t put the time in, we are never going to have the long term success we desire.

As I mentioned above, there are many reasons why people fail in the network marketing business. However, I believe that these are the most common reasons. Some would argue that many run out of money before they have a chance to really make any.

Again, this goes back to acquiring the necessary skills. Once you learn how to generate cash before you even sign anyone up, you will be able to continue to make money as you hone your skills and build your business.

I can guarantee, without a shadow of a doubt, that every successful network marketer (at least every single one I know) has a strong work ethic.

This is vital and without it, success – especially over the long term – will not come. Despite what many think, the majority of network marketers don’t turn on their computer, put up a website and make money. There is some actual work involved.

All successful network marketers work hard (and smart) to master the skills necessary to run a successful business. It’s so important to not be afraid to do the work. We are all so willing to work hard when we have a job, why not for ourselves?

3. Implementation

This is where so many network marketers struggle. Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed with new strategies and techniques? Do you ever feel like you have so much information and don’t know what to do with it all?

You are not alone.
