1. A Willingness To Learn
Unfortunately, many are tempted into this industry with promises of just “plugging into a system and making money.” I do believe that there are some systems that absolutely shorten the learning curve for many.
At the end of the day, however, you must be willing to learn. For most people, owning your own business, networking, marketing, online marketing…it’s all, or at least mostly, new to you.
Would you become an electrician without learning the skills necessary to be a successful electrician?
Of course not.
This is why it baffles me that so many people enter this industry without being prepared to become students of this business and learn how to succeed. If you are not willing to learn new skills, you may as well go back to your day job and save yourself some time and money.
2. A Strong Work Ethic
I can guarantee, without a shadow of a doubt, that every successful network marketer (at least every single one I know) has a strong work ethic.
This is vital and without it, success – especially over the long term – will not come. Despite what many think, the majority of network marketers don’t turn on their computer, put up a website and make money. There is some actual work involved.
All successful network marketers work hard (and smart) to master the skills necessary to run a successful business. It’s so important to not be afraid to do the work. We are all so willing to work hard when we have a job, why not for ourselves?
3. Implementation
This is where so many network marketers struggle. Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed with new strategies and techniques? Do you ever feel like you have so much information and don’t know what to do with it all?
You are not alone.
This happens to all of us at one point or another. The key thing to remember is that as much as learning is important, it is more important to implement what you learn. Don’t get caught up in the cycle of just watching training videos all the time and forgetting to apply what you learn.

This is key. We can’t expect to spend a couple of days on our business here and there. We can’t expect to put up a blog post or spend five minutes on Facebook and see any results.
In order to be successful, we must remember to be consistent with our efforts. A little bit each day is often better than a lot every once in a while.
In addition, we must take massive action. If we are using video marketing as a strategy, one video a month isn’t going to cut it. How does 20-30 in one month sound?
