I spent a few years as a full time bartender at a restaurant and enjoyed the job at the time. I look back now on my time there and reflect on the similarities between being a bartender and now being a network marketer.
When I first started bartending, I never regularly had a full bar of patrons. I waited on people as they came in the door and decided to sit at the bar, because they wanted to sit at the bar and not necessarily because I was bartending.
Over time I developed my skills as a bartender and more importantly, I got to know my guests on a more personal level. I began developing relationships with them. Soon they weren’t necessarily coming to our restaurant because our beer tasted any different than anywhere else, but rather because they wanted to go somewhere where the bartender knew them and could anticipate their needs.
As the years went by, I began to make much more money because of the “regulars” I enjoyed waiting on at my bar. Many of them had their beers waiting on the bar as they walked through the front door and they appreciated that, they saw a value in it.
There was one particular group of “regulars” that came in on Tuesday nights, every week, and I enjoyed waiting on them. After I left they went back for a couple of weeks, but then decided not to continue going there. They now go to the bar across the street. I know this because, to this day, and I left over 5 years ago, I still occassionally run into a couple of them. They still go out on Tuesday nights and they still go to the competition across the street…and they still invite me to meet them over there for a drink
I don’t say all of this to imply that I think I was such a wonderful bartender. My bartending skills are certainly not the point of this post.
I say this because I am trying to demonstrate the simplicity of attraction marketing. Brand yourself and provide value to your target market and you will be successful, regardless of what you are selling.
Remember, there are thousands of distributors in your network marketing company and you are all offering the same products/business opportunity. The only difference in what you are selling is YOU. You must become so valuable to your target market that they will want to join YOU, not your competition.
Give them a reason to join your team. Provide them value and they will look to you as a leader. Anticipate their needs and they will appreciate that. Make yourself so “magnetic” that they will look nowhere else but to you when they are ready to start their own business!
Attraction marketing is not flashy, it’s simple, but sometimes it’s the simple things that we all tend to overcomplicate in life

We are such {an advanced|a {sophisticated|highly developed|cutting-edge}} culture in {so many|countless|numerous|several|lots of|various} ways, however we are such {a “sick”|an “ill”} society with new “diseases” and new {synthetic|artificial|man-made} {drugs|prescriptions} being developed {all the time|on a regular basis|on a routine basis|day in and day out}. We don’t eat well, {don’t take care of|we don’t pay attention to our bodies} our bodies, don’t nourish ourselves and then we {go|run|head|rush} to the doctor because we “don’t feel well” and what happens? We get {prescriptions for drugs|medicine|prescriptions|prescribed drugs} {or we get no answers and continue to feel {bad|unhealthy|awful}|and really get no answers and continue to feel {bad|rotten|unhealthy|awful}|and really don’t get any answers and then just continue to feel terrible}.
How {often|frequently|regularly} do you have a {conversation|chat|discussion|talk} about your {“diet”|eating habits|regular diet} with your {doctor|physician} and actually {discuss|talk about|chat about} the foods you {eat|consume|have} and how they {affect|have an effect on|influence|shape|change} how you feel? Do you {prepare|arrange|make|plan|set up|organize} your meals {throughout|during} the day or week based on {good|high-quality|decent|superior|good quality|beneficial} food choices {or is it about grabbing something to eat so you don’t feel hungry?|or is it about whatever is quickest to eat to ensure that you don’t feel hungry?|or is it about {satisfying|fulfilling|gratifying} your hunger with whatever is most {convenient|handy}?}
{Believe|Trust} me, I {think|feel|consider} eating so that you don’t feel hungry is {important|significant|imperative|valuable|crucial|vital|essential|critical}, but I don’t {think|believe|feel} it is the most {important|significant|valuable|crucial|central|vital|essential|critical} {part|piece|component|role|aspect} of meal {planning|preparation}. {How many vegetables/fruits do you eat in a day? How much protein do you eat?|How much protein are you consuming on any given day? What about fruits and vegetables?} Do you {make|create|cook} meals prepared with whole foods that have been organically grown or {do you make ready to eat packaged meals filled with preservatives|do you take a box out of the cabinet or freezer that is potentially filled with chemicals, additives and preservatives}?
{I’m not writing this|My {intention|purpose|goal|objective} is not|This article is not {intented|meant}} to sound “preachy” at all, but {rather|instead} to make you {think about|consider|contemplate|mull over|reflect on} what you are putting in your body. {I’ll|I will|I will definitely} be the first to {admit|acknowledge|disclose|divulge|declare|state} that I don’t always make the {right|proper|correct|desirable|perfect} food choices, but I’m a lifelong student of nutrition and will {always|forever|at all times|all the time|constantly|continuously|continually} be {looking|trying|working} to {improve|better} my eating habits. More {importantly|significantly|notably}, I {think about|consider} what I eat and I {think about|consider|reflect on} how it affects me and I {recognize|realize|accept|concede|acknowledge|identify|know|appreciate|comprehend|understand|am aware} that there is a {direct|absolute|powerful|specific|unequivocal} {correlation|relationship|connection} {to what I eat and how I feel|to what I choose to eat and how it makes me feel|to what I put from my hand to my mouth and the effect it has on how I feel}.

{I know, I know|I can just hear it now|Now it’s time for the dreaded {response|reaction}}… “{there isn’t enough time|there just isn’t enough time}” to {cook|prepare meals} from scratch, or at least that is the most common {attitude|mind-set|opinion|point of view} towards eating a {better|healthier} diet and making better {food choices|choices in what we decide to eat|choices in what to eat}.
